At first glance, this SUV might look like a G-Wagen but it is a Mahindra Bolero underneath. Bolero has a very modifiable platform because of which it is one of the very popular vehicles that is converted to G-Wagen. The modification job that we see above is done by R&T Auto Catalyst in Kerala. The modification shop has done extensive work on changing the body panels, grille, bumpers, fenders and even the bonnet. The headlamps and the LED Daytime Running Lamp look very close to the G-Wagen. The shop has even placed turn indicators on the bonnet which are a recognizable characteristic of the G-Wagen. The cabin has also been redone so that it does not feel like it belongs to a Bolero.

This was also originally a Bolero. However, after extensive modification, the SUV does resemble a lot to a G-Wagen. The modification job was done by Jeep Studio in Coimbatore. It cost a whopping Rs 7.35 lakh. This job looks so good and authentic because a lot of the original parts of G-Wagen were used for this. For instance, the alloy wheels, badges and the outside rearview mirrors are from the original vehicle. There are new projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lamps, LED Daytime Running Lamps, a new grille and even a new bonnet. The front and rear track have also been altered so that the side profile resembles the original G-Wagen.

There are flared fenders on the side, turn indicators mounted on the bonnet, side steps, alloy wheels etc. While the front might look really good and authentic, it is the rear where the modification starts to fall apart. From the rear, it looks nothing like the G-Wagen. In fact, it still has the original tail lamps of Bolero.

Gurkha when modified to G-Wagen looks very realistic because Gurkha itself looks quite a lot like G-Wagen. So, it is easier to make a Gurkha look like G-Wagen. This modification job was done by a Kerala-based garage. The SUV is finished in the X7R paint scheme. Some of the spares were taken from the original G-Wagen and then installed on the Gurkha. The roof was reconstructed so that it is flatter. Other changes include new wheel arches, modified bumpers, lights etc. However, there is a giveaway. Gurkha comes with a large single-pane window which G-Wagen does not come with.

This Gurkha has also been modified to look like the G-Wagen. The modification shop used a lot of original parts from the G-Wagen. However, there are oval fog lamps that you do not see on the G-Wagen. There are different alloy wheels and the roof was also reconstructed. The owner spent Rs. 6.5 lakhs on this modification. But this also suffers from the same issue that the previous Gurkha did. The large single pane is a giveaway that this is not an original G-Wagen.
