New Force Gurkha Xtreme 4×4: Detailed image gallery

Force launched the updated Gurkha Xtreme with a new 2.2-litre engine last year. Priced at Rs 12.99 lakh, we were more than curious to drive this 4×4 in an apt environment to see if the new engine along with the old school mechanicals makes this the best hardcore off-roader in India or not. Design wise there are no changes to the Gurkha and it continues to look macho and if I may add, bad-ass too!

It gets a 3-inch lift that is standard from the factory. This further increase the approach / departure angles and also allows for larger wheels to be fitted

The snorkel is factory fitted and comes in handy during such runs when the slush goes over the bonnet.

The cabin is bare basic but people who buy the Gurkha will know why. Some basic features will be added soon we are told. Space up front is impressive while the rear benches can seat 5-6 in comfort.

The fascia design – no electronics mean nothing can go wrong here, even in the toughest of environments
