New Force Gurkha Xtreme 4×4: Detailed image gallery

Force launched the updated Gurkha Xtreme with a new 2.2-litre engine last year. Priced at Rs 12.99 lakh, we were more than curious to drive this 4×4 in an apt environment to see if the new engine along with the old school mechanicals makes this the best hardcore off-roader in India or not. Before we get you our review tomorrow, here’s a detailed look via our image gallery.

Design wise there are no changes to the Gurkha and it continues to look macho and if I may add, bad-ass too!

It gets a 3-inch lift that is standard from the factory. This further increase the approach / departure angles and also allows for larger wheels to be fitted

Lot of accessories fitted on this test vehicle that we got – rear jerry can holder, roof rack, alloys, mud tyres etc

Do note the new 2.2 motor is only seen in the top spec Xtreme version

It rained a lot the day we had the shoot – added to the fun factor.

Our slush pit – location is the Off-road adventure zone, Gurgaon

The snorkel is factory fitted and comes in handy during such runs when the slush goes over the bonnet.

The cabin is bare basic but people who buy the Gurkha will know why. Some basic features will be added soon we are told. Space up front is impressive while the rear benches can seat 5-6 in comfort.

The fascia design – no electronics mean nothing can go wrong here, even in the toughest of environments

The lever for manual diff locks – this one is for the rear axle.

Tachometer plus the air-con controls. These along with the power steering are the only creature comforts available.
