Ford EcoSport compact SUV clears the ‘moose test’ with a GOOD rating [Video]

The Ford EcoSport is a hot selling compact SUV from the American manufacturer. The EcoSport has a relatively tall design and has a high ground clearance of 200 mm. The SUV gets a range of safety features like airbags, ABS, EBD and ESP, which helps in emergency braking and maneuvering. The Indian version only gets ESP on the 1.5 AT variants. This safety feature is very helpful in emergency braking situations and for emergency direction changes like rapid swerves.

The Ford EcoSport comes with three engines options – a 1.5-litre Dragon petrol, 1-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine. The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol variant gives power of 121 Bhp and 150 nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual or an automatic transmission option. The turbo petrol makes 125 Bhp-170 Nm and gets a 5-speed manual gearbox. The more economical diesel variant provides 98 Bhp power and 205 Nm of peak torque. Pricing of the Ford EcoSport starts from Rs. 7.82 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model while the top-end model is priced at Rs. 11.89 lakhs (ex-showroom).
