Ford EcoSport SUV with matte black paint job looks butch

Ford EcoSport is one of those SUVs that actually started the sub-4 meter compact SUV segment in India. It has been in the market for a very long time and it is one of those SUV that has not seen many changes in terms of deign over these years EcoSport currently competes with cars like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300 in the market. We have seen several examples of modified EcoSport SUVs from different parts of the country. Here we have a video where a type 1 Ford EcoSport has been converted to a current version and gets a matte black paint job too.

The video has been uploaded by Autorounders on their YouTube channel. In this video, the presenter does not show the condition of the car when it had arrived at the workshop. He mentions that it was a pre-facelift or type 1 Ford EcoSport SUV and they converted it into a current shape version.

The sleeker looking headlamps and grille in the type 1 EcoSport were replaced with much more broader looking grille and headlamp units. Some of the panels must have been replaced to convert the car completely. The front grille and the bumper along with the fog lamps and and turn indicators are some of the elements that have been newly installed on the car.

Owner of this car had requested for a matte black paint job and that is what Autorounders did here. The car gets a complete black paint job which changes the overall stance of the car. It looks a lot more butch and offers an SUV like stance. All the chrome garnishes on the SUV were either blacked out or removed from the car. The standard alloy wheels on the EcoSport were also painted in black to give the SUV a uniform look.

Along with the exteriors, interiors have also received some customisations. Just like the exteriors, interiors on this SUV have also been blacked out. The seats now get a custom made leatherette black upholstery. The door pads, dashboards are all finished in black. The work done on this Ford EcoSport looks very neat and it will be hard for anyone to figure out that this is actually a Type 1 Ford EcoSport.

Ford is currently working on a 2021 version of EcoSport for Indian market. The upcoming version of the EcoSport has been spotted testing several times and the front fascia of the SUV receives some cosmetic changes. In the upcoming facelift, EcoSport gets a revised bumper with a dual function LED DRL in a boomerang like shape. The fog lamps are placed on the inner side of the DRL. Other than this, no other major updates have been seen on the Ecosport.

It gets the same tail lights and headlamps and the grille might be slightly different from the current version. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine generates 122 Ps and 149 Nm of torque. This engine is available with manual and automatic transmission option. The diesel engine generates 100 Ps and 215 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine comes with a manual gearbox only.
