Ford Endeavour Facelift: This is IT!

The Ford Endeavour facelift has finally been revealed and has gone on sale in Thailand, which is where the SUV’s mother plant is situated. The Ford Endeavour is sold as the Ford Everest in Thailand. Prices of the facelifted Ford Everest start at 12,99,000 Baht (Rs 26,77,809). The updated SUV is likely to be launched in India either by the end of this year or early next year.

As can be seen in the images we have here, the Endeavour facelift gets some very subtle styling changes, most of which can be found at the SUV’s front-end. The SUV now comes with an updated radiator grille with three single horizontal slats, a slightly bolder front bumper, and a new plastic cladding for the lower air intake. In the side profile, the only change is the introduction of new design alloy wheels.

The interior is largely the same. However, the features list gets a couple of additions – passive keyless entry and push-button start. Also, the Endeavour is now available with a foot-activated electric tailgate. The SUV has also got a tad safer with the introduction of the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) feature. This system works by detecting vehicles and pedestrians ahead.

The pre-facelift Ford Everest, aka Eneavour, was available with a 2.2-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that outputs 160 PS and 385 Nm, and a 3.2-litre, turbocharged diesel engine that offers 200 PS and 470 Nm. The recently introduced facelift, however, comes with a new 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that offers 180 PS and 420 Nm and a new 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that develops 213 PS and 500 Nm of torque. These new engines come from Ford Ranger and Ford Ranger Raptor, respectively. They are not only more powerful than the earlier motors but are also more fuel-efficient. The 6-speed automatic transmission has been replaced with a 10-speed auto ‘box. 4×4 is optional.

It’s not known if the India-spec Ford Endeavour facelift would come with the new engines or the new transmission. However, Ford India might want to switch to newer engines to help the SUV become a stronger rival to the Toyota Fortuner. Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming Ford Endeavour facelift.
