Ford Figo Aspire CNG launched in India

Ford dealerships across India today commenced the sale of CNG variant of their new Aspire sedan. The CNG variant of the Aspire sedan is priced at Rs 6.27 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi, and it is available in Ambiente and Trend Plus trims.

Ensuring complete peace of mind, the CNG-powered compact sedan will offer the lowest cost of ownership and come equipped with a standard two-year or 100,000km standard warranty. With long scheduled service interval of one-year/10,000km, owners will be required to get their CNG kits serviced once every two-years or 20,000 KM.

Talking about the new offering Vinay Raina, executive director – Marketing, Sales & Service, at Ford India said,

The New Aspire CNG is yet another fuel-efficient, and eco-friendly alternative for our value-conscious customers, With maintenance cost as low as just 46 paise per km, the New Aspire CNG will offer great peace of mind to customers, without compromising on performance, safety or space.

The new Aspire CNG uses the latest sequential technology to ensure that owners don’t have to compromise on best in-class power and performance. The CNG Kit in the Aspire is integrated with the engine control unit (ECU) to ensure optimized gas flow in each cylinder. Special engineering elements such as front stabilizer bar have been added to accommodate extra CNG cylinder weight and ensure the best handling and ride comfort.

Like all other cars form Ford, the Aspire CNG takes safety as a priority and becomes the first CNG equipped car in segment to offer two airbags as standard. On the inside it gets host of features, including embedded satellite navigation, an infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen & Bluetooth connectivity, rear-view camera, remote central locking, automatic air-conditioner and power windows among others.

Ford will be manufacturing the new Aspire CNG from their Sanand factory in Gujarat, The Aspire Ambiente trim is priced at Rs 6,27,414 ex-showroom and the Aspire Trend Plus Trim is priced at Rs 7,12,314 ex-showroom and the CNG kit is paired with a 1.2L petrol engine. The Figo Aspire is also available with two other engine options – the 1.5 liter-3 cylinder Dragon petrol motor and the 1.5 liter-4 cylinder turbocharged diesel.

While the 1.5 liter petrol, which makes a class leading 123 Bhp-150 Nm, is exclusively offered with a 6 speed torque converter automatic, the 1.5 liter diesel makes 98.6 Bhp-215 Nm, and is paired to a five speed manual gearbox. The Ford Figo Aspire competes with other compact sedans such as the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and Honda Amaze. The Figo Aspire received a facelift a few months ago.
