Ford is planning to launch a slew of new vehicles in the coming year. A few of them are the Figo Cross known as Freestyle, Figo facelift and the Figo Aspire facelift. While the cross-version of the vehicle will be the first one to be unveiled in the Indian market, the facelifted version of the current cars will be launched soon after.
The sedan version of the Figo, known as Figo Aspire has been spied at Gujarat’s Sanad where the Ford plant is located. The pre-production prototype vehicle has been spotted with heavy camouflage to hide the updates. However, the test vehicle reveals a few details about the facelift version of the vehicle.
The vehicle can be seen with a new honeycomb grille that adds an aggressive look to the vehicle. The front bumper has also been tweaked to make it more aggressive. The headlamps will be updated too but being under camouflage, we could not make out the exact changes. However, we can expect integrated DRLs in the headlamp. from the rear, the car looks similar to the current model with same tail lamps. Ford may update the boot lid. Black alloy wheels can be seen on the test car as well as 4 rear parking sensors are visible.
On the inside, the Aspire facelift is expected to get a revised dashboard with floating type screen. The updates inside the cabin should be synchronous with the new EcoSport, which has now got a floating type infotainment system with the SYNC3 operating system. The new vehicle will get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration just like most of the competition.
Under the hood, the new Figo Aspire is expected to be powered by a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder engine from the Dragon series. The new engine will be derived from the all-new 1.5-litre Dragon engine that powers the new EcoSport. The 1.5-litre diesel engine will remain the same.
