Ford Figo Aspire to get sporty, Titanium Blu variant: SPIED at showroom

Ford India will soon launch a sporty looking version of the Figo Aspire compact sedan in the form of the Titanium Blu trim.  The car was spied at a Ford showroom which means that a launch (soft?) is just around the corner. In term of looks and  specifications, the Aspire Blu will be similar to the hatchback version. Ford is expected to offer the same engines and gearbox option on the Aspire Blu as the ones on offer with the Figo Blu. What this means is: the petrol 1.5 liter-3 cylinder motor with 121 Bhp-150 Nm and the 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox won’t be offered with this trim.

Instead, buyers will have to choose between the 1.2 liter-3 cylinder Dragon petrol engine with 95 Bhp-120 Nm, and the 1.5  liter-4 cylinder TDCI turbocharged diesel engine with 98.6 Bhp and 215 Nm. Both engines will be paired with 5 speed manual gearboxes. As for pricing, the Figo Aspire Blu will be cheaper than the Titanium+ version. This variant could turn out to be the best seller in Ford’s Aspire line up thanks to the combination of looks, fresher interiors and various feature additions at a sharp price tag.

As for the changes in the Figo Aspire Titanium Blu variant, the exterior styling will get the following: blue inserts on the front bumper, blue and black decals on the profile and boot lid, 15-inch blacked out alloy wheels, blacked out wing mirrors and a blacked out roof. The insides of the car will get an all-black theme with a blacked out dash and seats, blue highlights on the door trim and steering wheel. Other changes will include a 6.5 inch touchscreen infotainment unit without Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ford’s SYNC3 interface is also likely to be dumped to keep costs low.

Spyshots of the car that have reached Team-BHP reveal that the car will have only 2 airbags instead of the 6 airbags that  are offered on the Figo Blu model. This also indicates that Ford may be looking for a very competitive price tag for the car. Just to give you a reference, the top-end Titanium+ variants of the Figo Aspire in petrol and diesel are priced at Rs. 7.71 lakhs and Rs. 8.51 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. Ford is expected to announce prices of the Figo Aspire Titanium Blu variant within days from now. Keep an eye on this space as we aim to bring you the pricing of the new car very soon.
