On the inside, the car will get floating-screen touchscreen similar to the EcoSport. It will also get updated SYNC3 infotainment system. There will be other updates like new upholstery and rear parking sensors with a rear camera.

The cross version of the hatchback will also get a cladding around the body to give it a rugged look. To add sportiness, the vehicle will get roof rails and blacked out 6-spoke alloy wheels.

The Figo Cross will take on the vehicles like Volkswagen Cross Polo, Etios Cross and Hyundai Active i20. There is no information about the increased ground clearance or a more powerful engine in the new vehicle. However, Ford will plonk the 1.2-litre petrol and may offer 1.5-litre Dragon petrol on higher powered versions. The diesel engine will be the same 1.5-litre unit as the current model.

Ford will also launch the facelift version of the Figo next year that will incorporate the same changes as the Figo Cross. However, it is not known if both the vehicles will be launched simultaneously or one will be launched before the other. Both the cars are expected to be launched by mid-2018 in India. With the update, Ford is expected to launch the facelift version of the Aspire too, which is the sedan version of the Figo.
