Ford Freestyle TVC released: Watch the Hyundai i20 Active rival in action

Those of you who have been regularly following us would know that Cartoq leaked the TVC of the upcoming Ford Freestyle much ahead of its official release by Ford India. Well, today, once again, we have the same TV commercial video for you so that you can have a good look at the high-quality version of the video posted by us a few days ago.

This TV commercial highlights the high versatility that the car has on offer. You can see the car easily switching between smooth tarmac, broken roads, and rocky patches with no sign of tar. The video shows the car being piloted by various young individuals, which is basically the customer-base Ford wants to target with its upcoming model.

Furthermore, the video gives us a look at some of the important features that this car will offer. These include the excellent SYNC3 infotainment unit and Active Rollover Protection. The video concludes with “Josh hai dil mein” tagline, which reminds us of the ‘Josh Machine’ tagline that the now-defunct Ford Ikon used.

Based on the Figo hatchback, the Freestyle gets an updated styling that makes it look bolder and more rugged. It will have two engine options – 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.5 TiVCT petrol engine with dual-clutch automatic transmission won’t be available on the Freestyle. Moreover, the 1.2-litre unit is all-new and will soon replace the 1.2 TiVCT motor on other Ford cars.

It belongs to the company’s Dragon series of engines and outputs a max. power of 96 PS. It has a claimed mileage of 19 kmpl. The diesel unit is the same 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine that powers many other Ford cars. This motor outputs 100 PS and offers 24.4 kmpl. The Freestyle will go on sale in five colour options – Moondust Silver, Smoke Grey, White Gold, Oxford White, and Absolute Black.

Standard features across all trims include – ABS, Front dual airbags, EBD, Engine Immobilizer, Reverse parking sensors, Keyless entry, Approach sensors, and Perimeter theft alarm. The fully-loaded model will also offer Active Rollover Protection (ARP), Side and curtain airbags, Emergency Assistance, Automatic climate control, Ford MyKey, Ford SYNC3, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The car will also offer a set of official accessories, which include-

  • Body stripes
  • Roof wrap
  • Seat covers
  • Window visors
  • Rear spoiler
  • Automatic headlamps
  • Engine undercover
  • Anti-theft nuts
  • Smart ambient lighting
  • 15-inch alloy wheels

Prices of the new Ford Freestyle are likely to start at roughly Rs 6.5 lakh and go all the way to Rs 10 lakh.
