What’s new with the Ford Figo Celebration edition
The Ford Figo Celebration edition gets a bunch of cosmetic touches as well as some functional features that make it even better value. In terms of design, it has curvy, blue and grey cloud-like decals adorning the exteriors, with an all-black interior. The other immediately noticeable feature is the rear spoiler that gives it a sporty touch.
In terms of features, the Ford Figo Celebration comes with a GPS navigator in addition to the regular Figo infotainment system with Bluetooth. It also has reverse parking sensors as standard fitment, and branded scuff plates differentiating it from the regular variants. It also gets uniquely designed seat covers. Other features such as power mirrors, tilt-adjustable steering, alloy wheels, fog-lamps, two airbags and ABS continue to remain as standard offerings on the Figo Celebration edition Titanium variant.
To create the Ford Figo celebration edition, Ford apparently enlisted the services of fashion designers Shantanu and Nikhil. The designers came up with a “design shack” and invited Figo customers to give their suggestions. These suggestions were taken and incorporated in the design of the Figo Celebration Edition. A fashion show at the launch event also attempted to create some buzz around this limited edition “exclusive” model. So far the Figo has sold 2,70,000 cars since its launch. Of course, one thing that hasn’t and will not make it to the Figo are rear power windows, as that is a design constraint that cannot be overcome (as the rear windows don’t roll down fully). However, at the price that the car is being offered at – Rs. 4.15 lakh and Rs. 5.15 lakh – it is excellent value for money for anyone looking for a spacious, premium hatchback that is fully feature loaded as well.
