By Utkarsh Deshmukh

With its strong manufacturing capabilities, India has established itself as a dominant force in the Asian automobile industry. Its neighboring countries frequently import vehicles produced in India, particularly SUVs. These SUVs are not only popular among civilians, but also among military and police personnel in numerous other Asian, African, and even European nations. Below, we highlight some of the India-made SUV models that are currently being used by foreign military and paramilitary forces.

Tata Hexa – Bangladesh

The first vehicle in this list is Tata Motor’s Hexa MPV. The model became the official vehicle of the army of Bangladesh after Tata Motors won the contract of supplying 200 MPVs to our eastern neighbor. It was reported that Tata Motors had to pass the Hexa through a ton of rigorous tests in order to get this contract. The model is finished in a dark olive green color.

Mahindra Enforcer – Philippines

The next few vehicles on this list are from India’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra. The Mahindra Enforcer is used as a police car in the Philippines, which is an island archipelago in the Indian Ocean. The Mahindra Enforcer which looks like a Bolero in front is manufactured in India and is then exported to the Philippines.  In 2015, the Philippine police force spent P1.3 billion on a total of 1,470 Enforcer units.

Mahindra XUV500 – South Africa

As mentioned before Mahindra will be making a comeback to this list a few more times and this time it has come with the XUV500. The highly popular SUV is the choice of transportation for the South African police. The South African Police department uses the previous model’s top-spec W8 variant with the all-wheel drive configuration.

Mahindra Enforcer – Bhutan

A lot of Indian-made automobiles are imported into Bhutan, a landlocked nation to the northeast of India. The dependable Bolero pick-up truck’s paramilitary counterpart – Enforcer, is also used by Bhutan’s security services. Tata Safari Storme – Algeria

Tata SUVs are imported into Algeria, one of North Africa’s rapidly expanding nations. In actuality, the Tata Safari Storme serves as the premier police vehicle for Algeria. The Safari Storme has been superseded by the Safari in India, where it was formerly manufactured.

Mahindra Scorpio – Philippines
