The supercar culture in India is gaining momentum, and we are witnessing the entry of several new manufacturers with their luxurious offerings into the Indian market. While renowned car makers like Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, and McLaren have established a presence in India, spotting these exquisite vehicles on our roads can be quite challenging if you do not reside in a metropolitan city. McLaren officially began selling cars in India last year and even opened a physical dealership in Mumbai. One prominent car enthusiast named Amit Singh, the owner of the popular Fusion Gym, recently acquired a McLaren 720S supercar, and images of the vehicle have already surfaced online.

The images were shared by automobiliardent on their Instagram page. It appears that Amit purchased the car from the McLaren dealership in Mumbai, which is managed by the Infinity Group. McLaren offers its entire portfolio in India, including models like the GT, Artura, 720S, 720S Spider, 765 LT, and 765 LT Spider.

The McLaren 720S purchased by Amit Singh comes in the signature Orange shade. This sports car is equipped with a powerful 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbocharged petrol engine, capable of producing a maximum power of 720 Ps and peak torque of 770 Nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Thanks to the use of carbon fiber panels, the car is remarkably lightweight. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 341 kmph.

The car features active aerodynamics, including an active rear wing that adjusts its angle based on factors such as speed, turning angle, and braking. The interior of the McLaren offers a combination of leather and Alcantara materials, complemented by carbon fiber inserts. The ex-showroom price for the McLaren 720S sports car in India is around Rs 4.65 crore, and additional costs may apply depending on customizations and performance packs.

Amit Singh is not the first Indian billionaire businessman to own a McLaren 720S. Even before the brand was officially available in the Indian market, many enthusiasts had imported McLarens to India. For example, Gautam Singhania, the Managing Director of Raymond, is a car enthusiast who owns a Green McLaren 720S. Apart from Mr. Singhania, there are several other businessmen who also own McLarens. After McLaren’s official entry announcement in India, movie producer Bhushan Kumar gifted a McLaren GT to the actor Kartik Aaryan. The McLaren GT serves as McLaren’s entry-level sports car.
