Goodyear launches two new tyres for Indian market

Tyres play a vital role for any automobile as they are the only source of traction with the road. Goodyear India understands this and has continuously been rolling out better tyres over the years. The latest two additions, one each in the Assurance and Wrangler series of tyres were unveiled last week. The Assurance DuraPlus 2 is primarily for small and medium size cars with wheel size between 13 and 15 inches. The Wrangler AT SilentTrac, on the other hand, is suitable for larger vehicles like the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and the Isuzu V-Cross.

The highlight of the Assurance DuraPlus2 includes its TredLife technology that allows car owners to drive as much as 1,10,000km on the same set of tyres. This of course is under standard test conditions but is still higher than other brands in the market. Every extra kilometer you drive on a set of tyres does bring down the overall running cost of a vehicle. This new tyre also comes with enhanced sidewall durability and reduced noise on the move. Sizes available on the Goodyear Assurance DuraPlus2 start from 145/70 R13 and extend all the way to 205/65 R15.

The Wrangler AT SilentTrac model, on the other hand, gives you all terrain performance while improving on various parameters. The tread compound is made with silica blend and this resists cutting and chipping during off-road drives. This does not come at the cost of wet traction performance says Goodyear. These new tyres also offer reduced noise while bumping up the fuel economy by a small margin. This is possible due to an optimised treat area for an even pressure distribution across the footprint.

The tyres will continue to offer same levels of satisfaction and warranty as ever before. I have been looking for a new set of tyres for my personal XUV500 and the Wrangler AT SilentTrac in size 235/65 R17 seem to be a perfect new fit!
