Loaded with features
All variants of the Harley-Davidson X440 are equipped with rounded LED headlamps with daytime running LED, rounded rectangular LED tail lamps, a USB charging port, and a full-TFT instrument console. The motorcycle is powered by an air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder, 440cc engine developed in-house by Hero MotoCorp, producing a maximum power output of 27 bhp @ 6,000 rpm and maximum torque output of 38 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed transmission.
In terms of suspension, the X440 features 43mm upside-down telescopic forks at the front and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The braking system consists of a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard. With a kerb weight of 190.5 kg, the X440 sits on a trellis frame and offers a ground clearance of 170mm. The front and rear tyres are sized at 100/90-18 and 140/70-17, respectively.
The all-new Harley Davidson X440 is the result of a collaboration between Hero MotoCorp and Harley Davidson. Unlike the previous Street 750 and Street Rod models, which were manufactured at the now-defunct facility in Bawal, Haryana, the new X440 will be produced at Hero’s production facility. Sales and service for the X440 will be available at the brand’s new premium dealerships, which will gradually expand across the country.
The introduction of the X440 Roadster signifies a major milestone in Harley-Davidson’s expansion plans within India’s thriving motorcycle market. This launch paves the way for further partnerships and collaborations between Harley Davidson and Hero Motocorp in India. Hero Motors has expressed its focus on the premium motorcycle segment, aiming to offer a range of bikes from 150cc to 450cc.
