Tata Harrier Electric SUV To Get 500 Kms Range: Presentation Picture Revealing

The country’s largest electric car manufacturer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, is getting ready to launch a number of new products in the country. Of these forthcoming EVs, one of the most anticipated models is the Harrier EV. The company has already showcased the concept of this vehicle at the 2023 Auto Expo, and now, a new picture has revealed an interesting detail about this SUV. The new picture provides a glimpse that the Tata Harrier EV could come with a 500 km range on a single full charge.
Based on Tata’s new Acti.ev modular electric vehicle-specific platform, the Harrier EV will become the flagship of the Tata.ev brand until the Sierra.ev is launched. Now, from a new picture taken during the presentation of Tata Harrier EV, it has made its way on the internet. From this picture, it was noted that the SUV had a range of 400 km with an 80 percent charged battery. This suggests that the Harrier EV will come with a range of 500 km with a fully charged battery.
This has also been confirmed by Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors, Passenger Vehicles, and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. During an interview last year, he stated that the company is planning to transition from Generation 1 platforms to Generation 2 platforms. With this shift, they will be focusing on maximizing the utilization of the battery pack energy to achieve impressive ranges of around 500 kilometers on a single full charge.
Apart from this, it has also been reported that the company could be offering the Harrier EV with a few very functional features. These features are vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities. Additionally, it is also being speculated that the company could be offering the Harrier EV a dual-motor setup. The advantage of this setup will be that the Harrier EV could get an all-wheel-drive layout.
In other Tata Harrier EV news, the final design for the exterior of the Harrier EV has been finalized by the company. The picture of this leaked design shows the rear three-quarters of the upcoming EV SUV. It can be noted that the car will overall boast the exact same exterior design as the outgoing ICE Harrier. However, there will be some small differences. The first difference will be that the electric Harrier will get a “.EV” badge on the door and rear decklid. Apart from this, it will also get a set of new aero-style alloy wheels.
Apart from these changes, the leaked picture shows that the new Harrier EV will utilize the same body exterior design as the ICE model. It will come equipped with the vertically stacked LED headlights connected LED DRLs at the front and rear connected LED taillights. It is believed that the company could change the front and rear bumpers a little to create a distinction between the ICE and EV models. However, at the moment this has not been confirmed.
