MG Hector Sharp dual-tone paint launch soon; Bookings open

MG Motor India will launch a dual-tone variant of its first car in the Indian market – the Hector. The new dual-tone paint will be available with the top-end Sharp trim of the Hector and a few units have even started to reach the dealerships. MG is also accepting bookings for the new dual-tone Hector and the delivery is expected to happen in the coming days.

While MG is yet to officially comment on the new development, the dual-tone variants are likely to cost around 20,000 more than the single-tone variants. It will be available with two paint options – Candy White and Glaze Red as seen in the video. The dual-tone variants will come with a contrasting black roof with black pillars and ORVMs. There are no changes the vehicle otherwise, it will come with the exact same looks apart from the dual-tone paint scheme.

Even the features of the dual-tone variants will be identical to the single-tone variants and there will no changes on the inside of the vehicle. It should be noted that most rivals of the Hector including the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos offer dual-tone paint options. With the new paint option, MG Hector will be well-equipped in the segment. The Hector is currently the best-selling vehicle in the segment.

Recently the brand also introduced the six-seater version of the Hector, which is called as Hector Plus. Both these vehicles are powered by the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and 2.0-litre diesel engine. The turbo-petrol engine option gets 143 PS of maximum power while the diesel engine produces a maximum of 170 PS. MG offers a hybrid variant of the petrol engine too. The petrol engine without the hybrid is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. The diesel engine option only gets a manual transmission as a choice.

MG is now working to launch the all-new Gloster, which will be launched next month. The all-new SUV will be the fourth product from the brand and it will be the most expensive car from the manufacturer in India. It will be a full-size SUV that offers a range of first-in-segment features. MG is likely to price the Gloster at around Rs 45 lakhs. Next year, the brand is likely to launch the petrol variant of the MG ZS, which will be positioned below Hector in the market. Also, the brand will launch an all-new MPV to take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in the Indian market.
