Hero Splendor rivalling TVS Radeon launched in India at Rs. 48,400 – Here’s all you need to know

Indian two-wheeler manufacturer TVS has launched the all-new 110-cc Radeon commuter motorcycle in India. The TVS Radeon is priced at Rs. 48,400 ex-showroom (Delhi). The new TVS Radeon will be the latest challenger to the Hero Splendor. TVS is offering the Radeon with a 5-year warranty.

The TVS Radeon is powered by a 109.7-cc single-cylinder engine that produces 8.28 bhp @ 7,000 rpm and 8.7 Nm of torque @ 5,000 rpm. TVS claims that the Radeon has a fuel economy of 69.3 km/l. With its 10-litre fuel tank, the Radeon has a claimed range of 693 kilometres on a single tank of fuel.

The new Radeon commuter motorcycle from TVS is built on a new single-cradle tubular steel chassis with telescopic oil-damped front forks and 5-step adjustable rear hydraulic shock absorbers, at the rear, providing a comfortable ride. The TVS Radeon sits on large 18-inch alloy wheels shod with its own Dura Grip tyres. The Radeon has a low seat height and a long wheelbase of 1,265 mm. The new TVS commuter motorcycle offers 180 mm of ground clearance.

The drum brakes on the Radeon are aided by TVS’ Synchronized Braking Technology, which is similar to the integrated braking system found on the Hero Splendor. This synchronised braking setup helps improve braking and ensures that the bike skids less.

TVS is targeting a younger audience with the new Radeon and this can be seen in the design of the new bike. Up front, the square headlamp features integrated DRLs and a chrome border. The engine and gearbox casing are finished in a gold paint scheme, while the fuel tank features knee pads and the long seat is textured. The instrument cluster is a fully analogue unit with indicators for the Eco and Power mode functions. The Radeon features a conventional grab handle at the rear, which is paired with a carrier. Also present on the sides of the bike are two more grab handles that feature a hook to carry daily essentials.

TVS has draped the new Radeon with dollops of chrome. The crash guard, kick starter, exhaust, rear shock absorber shroud, carrier and instrument cluster are all draped in the shiny material. The new Radeon is available in four colour options – white, beige, black and purple.

The new TVS Radeon will take on the Hero Splendor, Honda Dream Yuga and the Bajaj Platina Comfortec in the commuter motorcycle segment.
