Hero Splendor transformed into a showstopping Cafe Racer by Aero Customs

The Hero Splendor is one of the most popular two-wheelers currently on sale in India today. While its frugal engine has helped the Splendor become the most popular bike in India, its styling is the very definition of bland and boring. However, Ahmedabad-based two-wheeler tweakers Aero Customs has transformed the plain jane Splendor into a showstopping cafe racer, that is the very definition of cool.

The Aero Customs Splendor Cafe Racer is as different as it gets when compared to the original bike. Up front, the regular faired rectangular headlamps unit has made for a new circular chrome headlamp unit. The front fender has been chopped as well and is much smaller in size. The original instrument binnacle of the Splendor seems to have been retained, though it now more visible thanks to the removal of headlamp fairing.

The big change compared to the regular Splendor comes in the form of an old-school (in terms of design) fuel tank which has been scooped out as well. The Splendor cafe racer’s fuel tank along with the fenders are painted in a vibrant shade of metallic blue with the former bearing the logo of SHIELD, the secret spy agency in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The engine casing of the Splendor has been painted black as has the which looks a lot better than the dull grey of the donor bike. Adding to the vintage look of the modified cafe racer from Aero Customs are the spoked wheels which have been painted black and replace the alloy units found on the regular bike.

The Splendor’s seat has given way for a unit which is long and flat as a board. The flat brat style seat is done up in what appears to be a very light brown leather and features diamond quilting. The rear end of this customized is where more changes can be seen. First, the rear fender has been chopped and raised and now sits stuck to the rear end of the bike. Also, there do not appear to be any turn indicators anywhere on the bike and the tail lamps unit has made for a strip of LEDs that run across the rear section of the bike’s frame.
