In the video, we can see some blue graphics on the front mudguard. These look identical to the paint scheme in which the motorcycle was earlier spied. This confirms that the motorcycle on the test was the Xpulse 200 4V. The video shows the motorcycle in a white and blue paint scheme but there will also be a black and blue version. There should be other paint schemes on offer too.

The major change to the motorcycle will be its engine. It will now get 4 valves instead of 2 valves. So, we can expect the new motorcycle to feel smoother, have fewer vibrations, deliver slightly better fuel efficiency and produce more power. The power bump will not be major, we expect it to be somewhere around 2 bhp. The engine will still come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The current Xpulse 200 gets a single-cylinder, 2 valve air-oil cooled engine with fuel injection. It produces 17.8 bhp at 8500 rpm and 16.45 Nm at 6500 rpm.

The design of the Xpulse 200 4V will stay majorly the same as the regular Xpulse. It will continue to get a circular LED headlamp, upswept exhaust, knuckle guards, tall front mudguard, digital instrument cluster and LED tail lamp. The tank design and side plates stay the same only the graphics and paint scheme is new.

Rally Kit

The Xpulse is also the only motorcycle that is offered with a Rally Kit. The kit costs Rs. 38,000 but you can also get individual parts. The kit consists of long travel and fully adjustable front and rear suspension. Due to this, the ride height of the motorcycle increases significantly so you would have to get the longer side stand which also Hero offers with the kit.

There is also a longer gear lever because the off-roading shoes do not fit under the regular gear lever. The kit also comes with a flat seat and handlebar risers which are important as they help the rider in staying straight when he is standing and riding. You also get Maxxis off-road knobby tyres which increase the grip during off-roading sessions significantly. The tyres come with their own tubes. The downside to these tyres is that they do not provide a good ride quality on tarmac roads.

Most affordable dual-sport motorcycle

The Xpulse is the successor to Impulse which did not sell well in our country. We can say that the Impulse was ahead of its time because now many people are buying Xpulse as it is the most affordable dual-sport motorcycle which can be used to learn off-roading. People are using the Xpulse for riding trails, touring, off-roading, daily commutes and much more. We have even seen people taking their Xpulse to Leh-Ladakh. So, it is a very capable machine.
