Hero XPulse 200 will be India’s cheapest ADV motorcycle: Official pictures REVEALED

Hero MotoCorp’s biggest launch of the year will be the XPulse 200 on-off road motorcycle. The XPulse is powered by a 200-cc four-stroke engine. The motor, which puts out 18 Bhp of peak power and 17 Nm of peak torque is air-cooled, fuel-injected and gets a single overhead camshaft driving two valves. Engineered in-house by Hero MotoCorp’s research and development wing at Jaipur, the new four-stroke engine will first be seen on the Xtreme 200. The engine will be paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. The XPulse 200 is expected to weigh a light, 140 kilograms. This should give the XPulse 200 enough pep for both on- and off-road conditions.

Key bits on the XPulse 200 will be its long travel suspension at the front and rear. While the front end will feature a 21-inch tyre with the forks rated at a 190 mm travel, the rear tyre will be a 19-inch unit and will be suspended on a monoshock with 180-mm travel.

The XPulse 200 will also get disc brakes at the front and rear, but will have only a single-channel ABS unit. This is intended to allow the rider lock the rear brake during certain situations off the road. The XPulse will ride on spoked wheels. It’s likely to use tube-type tyres as tubeless tyres on an affordable off-road bike is expected to push costs up significantly.

The Xpulse 200 will go on sale later this year. Top Hero MotoCorp officials have confirmed that the motorcycle would be priced under Rs. 1 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. This will make the XPulse 200 the country’s most affordable on-off road motorcycle, priced well below the Himalayan, which now retails at over Rs. 1.8 lakhs.
