Hero launched the much awaited Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T this month after a long wait. The Xpulse 200 is the most affordable adventure tourer on sale in India with prices starting from Rs. 97,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Xpulse 200T, on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 94,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is the more road-friendly version of the Xpulse200. The nearest competition comes in the form of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, which is priced at Rs 1.8 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Talking about the Hero XPulse 200, it is the off-road-focused twin and comes with features like spoked rims, a high-mounted exhaust, high-mounted front mudguard, engine bash plate and knuckle guards as standard. The Hero XPulse 200T, as mentioned earlier, is the more road-biased twin and comes with blacked out alloy wheels shod with road biased tyres, a conventionally positioned exhaust and a tall windscreen. Mechanically, both the bikes are identical to each other and offer similar features.

The Hero Xpulse 200T has a travel of 190mm on the front forks while the rear suspension has a travel of 170mm. The bike is based on the Hero Xtreme 200R and uses the same engine and chassis. It is powered by a 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is also offered on the Xtreme 200R and the Xpulse 200. On the Xpulse 200T, this engine pumps out 18.4 PS and peak torque of 17.1 Nm. A five-speed transmission does the duty on the bike. It also gets disc brakes on both the wheels and single-channel ABS as standard.

The XPulse 200T gets a full-LED headlamp set-up along with LED tail lamps. The instrument cluster is a fully-digital monochrome instrument unit that shows a plethora of information and looks cool too. It is quite an advanced unit and shows notifications for service reminder, turn-by-turn navigation, gear indicator and call alerts. It also comes with Bluetooth connectivity can be connected to a smartphone to show various notifications like the caller’s name, navigation directions and message alerts on the screen. It is the first-in-segment feature and is a standard feature on both the XPlulse 200 and the XPulse 200T. Hero also offers a charging port for smartphones with the bike, which is a great feature for the type of people targeted with this bike.

The Hero XPulse 200T is offered with a total of four colour options with the XPulse 200T. These colours are Candy Blazing Red, Black, Matte Shield Gold and Matte Axis Grey. For its asking price, the Hero XPulse is a great bike and a definite choice for the adventure seekers.
