Hero XPulse: India’s first 200cc adventure motorcycle revealed at the Auto Expo 2018

Hero showcased the much awaited XPulse 200 at the Auto Expo earlier today. This motorcycle is all set to create an all new segment of affordable (and reliable) adventure motorcycles and will go on sale by early March. Pricing should be around the lakh mark, giving it a huge advantage over the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

The XPulse takes it on from where the Impulse left. Hero says they interviewed a lot of adventure tourers who are currently using everyday motorcycles that are not really meant for adventure travel

In Hero’s own words : “the dynamic, dual-purpose and technologically-advanced bike, XPulse is targeted at young and thrill-seeking riding enthusiasts who seek a comfortable and capable riding companion for leisure as well as adventure excursions”

The all digital speedometer console not only looks great, is functional as well. Plus you can run navigation on the screen via your mobile phone

The XPulse uses the same new 200cc engine as the Xtreme and gets fuel injection as well. The engine delivers 18.4 PS Power and 17.1 Nm Torque and is mated to a 5-speed transmission

You also get Full-LED headlamps, protective wind-shield and knuckle guards. ABS will also be offered and is tuned for on/off road usage.

Minimal rear with an up-swept exhaust complete the rear end

The bike gets a 21-inch front along with 190mm of suspension travel!

The rear is a 18″ one. Both wheels get dual purpose tyres. The rear suspension has 140mm of travel and the XPulse comes with 220 mm of ground clearance

The seat seems well padded and also gets a luggage rack – Hero has really made the XPulse feature loaded. This bike should be a hit with those looking at doing a Ladakh trip this year
