Honda Activa 125 BS6 TVC starring Akshay Kumar & Twinkle Khanna released

Honda’s first Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms compliant two wheeler is the Activa 125, and the Japanese two wheeler giant is now going all out to promote it. The Honda Activa 125 BS6 gets a new TVC that showcases its key features. Starring Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and his writer-wife Twinkle Khanna, the TVC is a breezy affair, which will take you on a quick spin around the streets of Mumbai, while showcasing everything new that the Activa 125 BS6 has to offer. As the TVC reveals, the 2019 Honda Activa 125 BS6 gets a slew of new features, not just limited to the BS6 compliant 125cc four stroke engine, which Honda claims is 13 % more fuel efficient than the BS4 version. This claim is likely to hold out on the real road considering the fact that BS6 norms cut emissions drastically, and this happens by the engine getting more efficient, which means that there must be a bump up in fuel efficiency. The 125cc four stroke engine of the Activa 125 BS6 makes 8.2 Bhp of peak power and 10.3 Nm of peak torque. Fuel injection is standard on this automatic scooter, whose mileage is rated at 60 Kmpl.

As for key features, the 2019 Honda Activa 125 BS6 gets an external fuel filling cap, which should greatly enhance convenience. There are LED position lights up front, a side stand that cuts ignition until it’s retracted and a noiseless starter motor (first-in-class). The Activa 125 is meant to be a unisex scooter, and this is exactly what the TVC shows with Twinkle Khanna taking over from Akshay Kumar, and riding off. A front disc brake is offered on the higher variants while the Combi-braking system (which employs both brakes even when a single brake is depressed) is standard. The Activa 125 can handle bad roads better than most scooters as it gets telescopic front forks. At the rear, monoshock suspension is standard. Tubeless tyres are also offered.

Prices of the Activa 125 BS6 start from Rs. 67,489, ex-showroom Delhi, and deliveries of the scooter have already commenced. The Activa range of automatic scooters are India’s best selling scooters, and there is a wide variety on offer. At the bottom of the price range is the affordably priced Activa-i, while the chunk of the sales come from the Activa 5G, which is the mid-range offering. The Activa 125 sits at the top of the range, and is not the biggest seller. Honda also sells many other automatic scooters, all based on the Activa platform. These scooters include the Dio, the Cliq, the Grazia 125 and the Aviator.
