In terms of design, Honda has stuck to an incremental approach with the Activa 5G, taking the safe route by introducing fresh elements while retaining the silhouette of the iconic scooter brand.  The front end gets a new LED headlamp with integrated daytime LED running lights and chrome garnishes.

Inclined slats are offered on the sides while the body is all-metal, in typical Activa fashion. The body also gets a 3D emblem. New features on the Activa 5G include a redesigned instrument cluster with analog-digital functions, a mobile charging socket, a retractable rear hook, multifunction key slot that also provides access to the under-seat storage compartment, LED head lamp and tail lamp.

The Activa continues to be powered by the 110 cc, four stroke, fan-cooled petrol engine with mileage maximizing HET (Honda Engine Technology). This motor makes 8 Bhp of peak power and 9 Nm of peak torque, and is paired to a CVT automatic transmission. The Activa 5G gets 18 liters of underseat storage, drum brakes on both wheels along with a Combi-braking system, tubeless tyres, steel rims, a leading link front suspension and a monoshock rear shock absorber.

The 5G is more of a facelift rather than a full-model change for the ultra-popular automatic scooter. The Activa continues to be a hot seller, and the latest changes have to do with market feedback that Honda has received over the last couple of years. In terms of pricing, expect a marginal hike in prices for the new model, when it launches in March this year.
