Honda launched the limited edition model of its popular Activa scooter in India a couple of weeks back. Based on the STD and DLX variants of the Honda Activa, the limited-edition scooters come with a special dual-tone colour scheme apart from other tweaks. Prices for the Honda Activa 5G limited edition start at Rs 55,032 (for the Activa 5G Limited Edition STD) and go all the way up to Rs 56,897 for the Activa 5G Limited Edition DLX. The prices for these special editions are only around Rs. 400 more than the regular Activa variants which is the reason that most people are now opting for them instead of the regular variants. Honda has released a new TVC of the Activa 5G Limited Edition which focuses on the distinctive features of this scooter.
As seen in the TVC here, the differences on the limited edition models are purely aesthetical in nature. According to Honda, the Limited Edition Honda Activa 5G comes with about 10 new premium style additions. The two new dual-colour options available in the special edition guise are Pearl Precious White with Matte Selene Silver and Strontium Silver Metallic with Pearl Igneous Black. Apart from the dual tone paint shades, the Limited Edition Activa gets new stylish graphics all around its body with ‘limited edition’ marked on several panels across its body.
The scooter now rides on blacked out rims which lend a sporty look to the Activa. Same is the case with the engine as it has been blacked out too. The muffler now gets a chrome cover while the grab rail, the inner side of the apron and seat cover are also finished in brown or black colour, depending upon the paint shade chosen by the buyer. The dual-tone colour option also adds highlights and special edition decals to the side apron, front fender and engine cover of the scooter.
Apart from the aesthetical changes, other specifications remain the same as on the regular Activa. There have been no changes on the mechanical front either and the limited edition Activa is powered by the same engine that powers the regular Activa models. This engine is a 109.2 cc air-cooled unit that churns out a decent 8 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm along with 9 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.
The Honda Activa series is the best selling scooter series in India for a long time. They are known for their reliability and hassle-free operation more than anything else. With the special edition Activas, Honda aims to attract the younger buyers who might else go for a competitor. The other scooters in the market that rival the Activa include the likes of the Hero Duet and TVS Jupiter among others.
