India’s largest selling automatic scooter, Honda Activa has received yet another update in the Indian market. The Honda Activa 6G, which is the sixth-generation version of the Activa is priced at Rs 64,912, ex-showroom for the Deluxe variant while the standard variant is priced at Rs 63,412. Apart from the emission compliant engine of the Honda Activa 6G, there are a few other changes too including additional features.
The new Activa 6G will be available in the market in the coming days. The major changes that the automatic scooter features are a new ACG silent starter motor, the addition of fuel injection system, telescopic suspension, external fuel cap, ESP technology, dual-function switch and multifunctional switchgear. The scooter will be available in two variants – Standard and Deluxe. A total of six colour options will be available with the Activa 6G.
Honda now offers the BS6 compliant engine with the Activa, which is 10% more fuel-efficient than the previous version. Further, it offers a longer wheelbase and the size of the scooter has overall increased. Honda has also added a double lid external fuel filling cap for easy fuel filling. Also, it gets telescopic suspension that ensures a smoother ride and better handling capabilities. The rear suspension of the Honda Activa is 3 steps adjustable and can be set-up according to the preference of the rider.
The overall design of the Activa 6G remains the same but there are a few changes that make it look fresh and updated. The scooter gets front a new front apron and new chrome inserts. The scooter also gets LED headlamp and revised tail lamp. Honda continues to offer the all-metal body panels for the Activa 6G. Also, the longer wheelbase will allow the riders to keep their feet without much of a problem and load more cargo too.
The new Activa 6G offers a new semi-digital instrument panel with an analogue speedometer. The digital display gives information like trip meter, odometer, service reminder, real-time fuel efficiency and more. The scooter also gets a side-stand indicator with inhibitor safety provision that ensures that the engine does not start when the side-stand is engaged. The BS6 compliant engine of the Activa churns out a maximum power of 8 Bhp and peak torque of 9 Nm. Honda claims that the Activa 6G now returns 10% more mileage when compared to the Activa 5G. However, the power output has come down slightly.
Honda will start delivering the Activa 6G soon in the market and is currently accepting bookings through the dealer network across India.
