Honda has launched a facelifted version of its compact sedan, the Amaze. Mechanically unchanged the car gets an enhanced list of features, slightly updated styling, and of course, a new interior.
On the outside, the 2016 Honda Amaze gets new bumpers, redesigned head- and taillamps, wider grille, and new look alloy wheels. A new colour called Bluish Titanium has been added, too. But that’s only half the story, since the major changes are on the inside. The interior looks all new, more premium, and miles ahead of what the original Amaze offered. As seen on the spy shots earlier, the center console, the instrument cluster, and even the AC vent design and controls are all new.
There will be four trims on sale, namely E, S, SX, and VX, with features like airbags, ABS, and climate control being standard on higher ones. The base diesel and CVT variants get ABS as part of the standard equipment across all trims.
Engine options include the same 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol engine (as found on the Brio) and a 1.5-liter i-DTEC unit. Both get a 5-speed manual gearbox as part of the standard equipment but the former can also be bought with a new CVT automatic gearbox.
Prices start at Rs 5.29 lakh onwards for the petrol versions, while the diesel powered variants start at Rs 6.41 lakh onwards. The CVT equipped petrol range starts at Rs 7.19 lakh onwards.
