Its official! The Honda Brio diesel sedan is going to be launched in April 2013. Honda will launch the Brio AT hatchback in the October-November period followed by the Brio diesel launch in April.
The Brio diesel sedan will be a sub-4-metre sedan which will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Indigo eCS etc. Also read: Honda Brio automatic first drive impressions
The engine will be either a 1.4-litre or a 1.5-litre engine that will make 70 bhp to 110 bhp of power. This will be a four-cylinder motor and may be equipped with Honda’s i-DTec technology. The Brio Sedan will be offered only with manual transmission for now but may get an auto-box in the future. The Brio sedan will also come with a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. Honda may also launch an all new mini SUV in India which will use the same diesel engine. This also seems like a practical move considering the plethora of compact SUVs that the Indian market has or will get.
