Honda Brio Sedan photo out: First official image!

The very first photo of the Honda brio Sedan has been put up as a teaser on Honda’s Thailand website. The Sedan is expected to hit Indian shores in April 2013 and will compete with compact sedans like the Indigo eCs and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire when launched.

The Brio sedan however has a clear advantage over its competition when its comes to fit and finish which like all Honda cars is expected to be top notch. Moreover we can safely assume that it will be much more refined than its competitors. Also read: Honda Brio automatic first drive impressions

Photo: The Brio sedan looks attractive and well designed

The Brio sedan looks rather nice and it does not look like a hatchback with a boot slapped on to it like other compact sedans in the segment. The tail lamps look neat and wrap around nicely, complimenting the neat and stubby boot. The boot will likely have decent boot space for a compact sedan and could be anywhere between 300 to 350 litre large. Also read: Honda Brio diesel sedan launch on April 2013!

This will be a special launch as it will be the first Honda car in India to get a diesel engine and will have all eyes on it. This engine will later be used in other Honda cars as well, although Hond hasn’t made it very clear as of now.

The motor is a 1.5 litre engine being developed especially for the Indian market and will likely feature Honda’s i-Dtec technology. Honda will try to localize as many parts as possible for this engine so that prices can be kept under check. The motor will make somewhere between 70 bhp to 110 bhp of power and 167 to 215 Nm of torque. It will be offered with a manual transmission initially but like the Brio hatch it will also get an autobox in the future. It will also come in a petrol avatar with a 1.2 litre i-vtec motor.
