The Honda Brio’s India launch may have been postponed by a few months, but the car is already out in Thailand
Honda has launched the India-bound Honda Brio small car in Thailand market today. The production car is same as the concept car that the company unveiled at the Thailand Motor Show last year in November. Honda is planning to launch the Brio during the second half of 2011 in India at expected price of Rs. 5 lakh. Honda Brio looks and interiors

The Honda Brio is a very compact hatchback and measures 3.6 m in length, 1.68 m in width and 1.475 m in height. The front of the car features swept-back headlamps with blackened borders and a large Honda logo on a thick chrome strip across the grille.
The design gets a little quirky towards the rear, with the low-set rear windscreen glass also doubling as the hatch. The car features clear-lens jewel like tail-lamps as was originally seen on the Brio concept car shown at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The Brio looks like a shorter, funkier version of the more elegant Jazz hatchback.

As expected, Honda Brio is powered by 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol engine that produces 90 hp of maximum power and mated to a 5 speed manual. CVT is also available (for Thailand market only). Honda Brio returns a fuel economy of 20 km/litre (5 litres per 100 km – Honda’s claim). Honda Brio engine is Euro 4 compliant.
Honda Brio Thailand price range and colors
The Honda Brio launched in Thailand ins priced ranging from 399,000 – 508,5000 Thai Baht (i.e., Rs 5.96 lakhs – Rs 7.58 lakhs) and will be available in 5 colors, Fresh Lime Metallic (new), Taffeta White, Cerulean Blue Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.
Honda Brio Features
Honda Brio has adjustable steering wheel column, security alarm, engine immobilizer, double din music system with USB and Aux ports but lacks CD player.
Honda Brio is loaded with safety features such as dual SRS front airbags, disc brakes, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD). Honda boasts that Brio’s body shell satisfies safety standards for both front and side impacts as specified by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)’s regulations 94 and 95, respectively.
Honda Brio for India
Honda is planning to manufacture the Brio at Honda’s Greater Noida plant near Delhi. The Brio is expected to be launched in September 2011 at a price tag of around Rs. 5 lakh. When launched in India, Honda Brio will take on the upcoming Toyota Etios, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ritz, Tata Indica Vista, Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo and Nissan Micra.
