when it comes to the engine, there is not much information available regarding that as well. It is quite possible that Honda might launch it with a petrol engine only. ZR-V might be powered by the 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine option that is available with the new generation Honda City in the international market. It will be available with a manual and CVT gearbox option. There is even a possibility that Honda will offer a 1.5 litre diesel engine with the upcoming SUV. This would also be the same engine seen on the current generation Honda City.

Honda has plans to expand their portfolio in the Indian market and the ZR-V will be the latest addition to the line-up. Honda has officially announced a realignment of its manufacturing operations in India. With this announcement they have discontinued  the Civic and the CR-V from the model line-up in India. Both models were premium offerings and were not doing great in terms of sales and that is the main reason behind discontinuation. Honda has also announced that they will now be concentrating more on car segment below all-new City and the upcoming ZR-V is one such product.
