Hyundai Creta has been India’s best selling SUV. The main reason behind this success is constant updates. Ever since its launch Hyundai has made sure that Creta doesn’t look outdated. They kept on adding more and more features to maintain buyers interest. Hyundai is now planning to launch a updated model of their popular SUV in 2019. Some images of the updated Creta have surfaced on Internet.
Hyundai Creta was never a bad looking SUV, with the 2019 update things remain the same. It seems like Creta has only received minor tweaks on the outside. The front and the rear bumper seems revised and rear parking sensors can be seen on the rear bumper. With the new safety norms about to kick in, it is expected that all the variants of 2019 Creta will get driver and passenger airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alerts and seat belt reminder as standard.
Other changes include addition of LED tail lamps in the SX, SX(O) and recently introduced SX(O) Executive variants. The Executive variant is placed above the SX(O) variant and comes with ventilated front seats and offers all the other features from SX(O) trim.
Engine of the 2019 Hyundai Creta is likely to remain the same. Base variants of the Creta get a 1.4L diesel engine producing 89 Bhp and 220 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Then comes the 1.6L petrol engine which produces 121 Bhp and 151 Nm torque and the 1.6L turbocharged diesel engine produces 126 Bhp and 260 Nm of torque.
Both petrol and diesel 1.6 engine comes with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. In 2018, Hyundai gave the Creta a major facelift. The facelift added a slew of features to the compact SUV, and also gave it a mild stylistic makeover.
The Creta is reaching the end of its life cycle, and will be replaced by an all-new model in 2020. The new Creta will be larger, and will have three rows of seats. It will also have Bharat Stage 6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. The new Creta is also expected to be hybrid and electric powertrain ready.
