Hyundai Creta Compact SUV – Price Estimates Out

The prices of the Hyundai Creta SUV have been leaked, well almost. AutocarIndia is carrying a story putting the Creta at a price premium to the Renault Duster, which is the way the pricing of the new Hyundai SUV is likely to pan out. Hyundai will launch the Creta on the 21st of July, 2015, in 10 variants.

Here are ex-showroom Pune price estimates of the Creta,

Hyundai Creta Petrol – 1.6 Base – 9.14 lakh rupees, 1.6 SX – 10.11 lakh rupees and 1.6 SX+ – 11.79 lakh rupees.

Hyundai Creta 1.4 Diesel – Base – 9.91 lakh rupees, S – 11.01 lakh rupees and S+ – 12.01 lakh rupees.

Hyundai Creta 1.6 Diesel – SX – 12.38 lakh rupees, SX+ – 13.55  lakh rupees, SX(O) – 14.53 lakh rupees and SX+ AT – 14.47 lakh rupees.

In Pune, the Duster’s prices are as follows, 

Renault Duster Petrol – RxE – 8.26 lakh rupees, RxL – 9.61 lakh rupees.

Renault Duster Diesel 85 PS – RxE – 9.02 lakh rupees, RxL – 10.06 lakh rupees, RxL Plus – 10.77 lakh rupees, RxL Optional – 11.37 lakh rupees.

Renault Duster Diesel 110 PS –  RxL – 11.12 lakh rupees, RxZ Plus – 12.45 lakh rupees and RxZ Optional – 12.46 lakh rupees.

Renault Duster Diesel 110 PS AWD – RxL – 12.44 lakh rupees and RxZ – 13.59 lakh rupees.

On the Creta, three engines will be offered, a 1.6 liter petrol, and 1.4 liter and 1.6 liter diesels. The petrol variant will be sold in Base, SX and SX+ trims, while the 1.4 liter turbo diesel motor will be offered in Base, S and S+ variants. The Creta with the 1.6 liter diesel engine will be sold in SX, SX+, SX (o) and SX+ Automatic variants.

The Creta has managed to bag over 10,000 bookings within just two weeks of pre-bookings being open. The compact SUV measures more than 4 meters in length, and will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and the Renault Duster.

The Creta’s top end variants will offer buyers plenty of equipment. From 6 airbags, to a 6 speed automatic gearbox, traction control, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, 60:40 split seats and ABS+EBD, the top-end Creta AT variant will be really loaded. The same can be said about the SX (O) 1.6 Diesel.

The 1.4 liter (89 Bhp-220 Nm) and 1.6 liter (125 Bhp-260 Nm) diesels, and the 1.6 liter petrol (126 Bhp-158 Nm), will also be avaulable with 6 speed manual transmissions. The compact SUV borrows its engines, and manual transmissions from the Verna sedan, while the 6 speed automatic gearbox comes from the Elantra sedan.
