The leaked design seems to be taken from a Volkswagen presentation. The compact SUV is expected to be launched in global markets by the end of this year. The car is expected to be launched in India too, but with different specifications.

The new SUV is based on the MQB A0 platform that also underpins the all-new Polo. The car is expected to be larger than the 4-meter mark but will get many premium features. The compact SUV gets a larger and wider front grille, square fog lamps, diamond cut alloy wheels and a swooping roofline. The model’s design is quite inspired by the T-Cross Breeze concept design.

On the inside, the SUV will get a host of premium features. It is expected to get an all-digital instrument console, MirrorLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 5-seater vehicle will be Volkswagen’s most affordable SUV in the line-up. Other details like engine and transmission are not yet known, but Volkswagen is expected to launch both petrol and diesel engine options. With the rising popularity of hybrid cars, we can assume that there will be a hybrid option too. The transmission options will include both manual and dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Volkswagen is currently working on a new platform for the Indian market that will allow the brand to bring in new cars at an affordable price. The all-new Polo and the T-Cross are also expected to be launched in the Indian market by 2020.
