The diesel powered variants use the 1.4 liter CRDI turbocharged unit with 89 Bhp-220 Nm. A 6 speed manual gearbox is standard.
Hyundai has dropped the 1.4 liter petrol engine and 4 speed torque converter combination from the facelifted model. In terms of stylistic changes, the new car gets a slightly revised front end – with a new bumper and grille. At the rear, the bumper, hatch lid and tail lamps get a redesign. The alloy wheels are also new units.
In terms of features, the Elite i20 packs quite a punch. Top-end variants get 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, speed sensing door locks and automatic door unlock upon collision, a reverse camera and parking sensors, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, twin tone body colour, steering mounted audio controls, a 17.7 cm touchscreen infotainment unit, rear arm rest with cup holders, sliding front armrest, rear AC vents and a built-in USB charger. Competition for the new i20 comes from the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen Polo GT twins.
