Hyundai i20 hatchback crashes into Tata Nano at high speed: Here’s the result [Video]

Cars from Tata Motors are popular in the market for their build quality. We have come across several videos and images that demonstrate how well Tata cars perform in terms of build quality. Even the most affordable Tata car, the Nano, has also proven its durability in the past. We have seen several incidents where the Tata Nano has come out of a crash without any major damage. Here, we have one such video from Madhya Pradesh where a Hyundai i20 crashed into a Tata Nano that suddenly appeared on the road.

Prateek Singh uploaded the video on his YouTube channel, and one of his subscribers shared the images of the crash on Instagram. The follower mentioned that the accident occurred recently on the Indore-Ujjain highway, but the exact location is unknown. The video suggests that the Hyundai i20 was driving at a high speed of around 120 kmph on the highway. As the car was moving forward, a Tata Nano appeared on the road to cross to the other side.

The Tata Nano came in front of the i20, and the driver did not have enough time or space to slow down, causing the car to crash into the Tata Nano. The image shared by the follower shows the impact on both vehicles. The front-end of the Hyundai i20 was damaged, including the grille, headlamps, bonnet, and radiator. However, the cabin and pillars remained undamaged. The i20 had crashed on the C-pillar of the Nano, damaging the metal panel on this part of the car and the wheels.

Hyundai i20 and Tata Nano after accident

As the rear metal fender was damaged, there is now a gap between the rear door and the panel. However, other than this, the car looks fine. For such a small car, the Tata Nano has managed to absorb the impact quite well. Passengers in both the Hyundai i20 and the Tata Nano were safe and escaped without any injuries. If the information shared in this video is correct, then we believe that it was the Tata Nano driver’s fault for crossing the road without looking at the oncoming traffic. However, the Hyundai i20 driver can also be blamed for driving the car at a high speed. It is worth noting that both cars managed to take the impact of the accident quite well, except for the front-end of the i20.

The Tata Nano was one of the most ambitious projects from the Indian car manufacturer. It was launched in the market as the world’s cheapest four-wheeler to make cars accessible to Indian families. However, the Nano could not do very well in the market due to the wrong marketing strategy. It is an extremely suitable car for city use. Tata Motors discontinued the Nano in 2019, but reports suggest that it might come back as an electric vehicle in the future. If that happens, it might be the most affordable electric car in the Indian market. Currently, Tata has Nexon EV, Tiago EV and Tigor EV in the market. They are also working on couple of new electric models.
