Hyundai is all set to unveil the i20 N Line today. The N Line is a sportier variant of the regular i20 and the N Line vehicles are inspired by the WRC cars of Hyundai. The N Line has been spotted ahead of launch. We can see it is finished in blue colour and it was being loaded or unloaded from the truck. The pictures have been clicked by Instagram user tusharpawar.
From the images, we can see that the i20 N Line is using different sportier-looking alloy wheels. The regular i20 gets 16-inch alloy wheels and the N Line is expected to have 16-inch alloy wheels too because larger alloy wheels would mess up the ride quality. We can also see the twin tip exhaust which gives a sportier appearance to the hatchback.
The changes have been converted with plastic wrapping. So, we can see there is a diffuser, rear spoiler, side skirts, new badging and it looks like there is something that sits between the tail lamps. The front of the hatchback is not visible but we expect it to come with some changes too. There should be a more aggressive-looking front bumper with a slightly different grille and N Line badging.

There should be some changes to the interior as well. So, we can expect a different steering wheel. It will be a three-spoke, leather-wrapped unit that will come with paddle shifters. There should be red highlights in the cabin. So, the red elements would be on the AC vents, seats, climate control system and gear selector. The ambient lighting will also be red in colour to give a sportier feel to the cabin. The seats would also get N Line’s chequered flag with N Line badging and it will also have leather upholstery. If you opt for the intelligent manual transmission then you would get an N Line exclusive gear knob.
Engine and specs
The engine would be the same 1.0-litre turbocharged, three-cylinder unit that comes with direct injection. It produces 120 PS of max power and 172 Nm of peak torque. You can get it with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox or a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission.
Variants
As per the leaked document, there would be three variants of the N Line. There would be N6, N8 iMT and N8 DCT. The N6 would be based on the Sportz variant while the N8 will be based on the Asta variant. The N6 would only be offered with the iMT gearbox whereas the N8 would be offered with a iMT or a DCT gearbox.
Mechanical changes
The N Line i20 would also get a retuned steering setup that should provide more feedback. The suspension would be retuned to provide better handling. It will also get rear disc brakes and an electronic stability program. Other changes include a different exhaust that should sound more sporty than the regular one.
