Hyundai recently teased the arrival of the N Line variants in India. We already know that the first vehicle under the N Line variants will be the i20. Now, the variants and engine specifications of the hot hatchback have been leaked online through an approval certificate. The i20 N Line is expected to launch next month.
The i20 N Line will measure 3,995 mm in length, 1,775 mm in width and 1,505 mm in height. It will have a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. It will be available in three variants. There will be N6, N8 iMT and N8 DCT variants.
The N6 will be based on the Sportz variant and will come with an iMT transmission. The N8 will be based on the Asta variant and you would be able to get it with the iMT or a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

There will be only one engine option for the N Line. It will be a three-cylinder, turbocharged engine that will come with direct injection. It will produce 120 hp of max power and 172 Nm of peak torque. The iMT or intelligent Manual Transmission would be a 6-speed unit whereas the dual-clutch gearbox will be a 7-speed unit. There will be no manual gearbox on offer.
The iMT is a clutchless manual gearbox. The driver does not need to operate the clutch to change the gears but he still has to change the gears manually. So, the driver can enjoy changing the gears manually and he would not have to modulate the clutch when stuck in traffic.
Mechanical changes
The exhaust note is expected to sound sportier. The suspension setup will also be firmer to provide better handling instead of ride quality. This should make the hatchback more fun to drive around the twisties. The i20 N Line is also expected to sit lower to the ground than the regular i20.
Visual changes
There will be a lot of visual upgrades over the standard i20. It will come with twin exhaust tips and a rear diffuser. There will also be side skirts. The front will also be a lot more aggressive. It will get a different front bumper with a front lip and the grille will be finished in piano black. It will also get N Line badging. The alloy wheels will also be upgraded to dual-tone units that measure 17–inches in size whereas the i20 gets 16-inch alloy wheels.
The interior might get sportier body-hugging seats and N-Line badging on the upholstery. It will also get aluminium pedals for a sporty appeal and there will be other touches to make the cabin feel more sporty than the regular i20. The steering wheel can also be different which is more sporty and it should come with paddle shifters considering the N Line is aimed towards enthusiasts.
The pricing of the i20 N Line is not yet revealed. However, it will be the top-end variant of the i20. So, expect it to cost quite a bit.
