Hyundai is a popular brand among Indian customers and is currently the second largest car manufacturer in the country after Maruti Suzuki. Hyundai Motor India has now inaugurated their new corporate headquarters in Haryana’s Gurgaon. The new corporate headquarters is a ten storey building and the same was inaugurated on 27 July, 2021. It is a greenfield project that is spread across 28,000 square meters. The Korean car manufacturer had moved its operation to the new building in April this year but, it was only this month they officially inaugurated it.
The new headquarters of Hyundai is located alongside Gurgaon-Jaipur highway (NH-8), next to DLF world Tech park. The new headquarters of Hyundai is actually a green complex. It has open spaces with massive vertical gardens at the atrium and they have also installed 14 EV chargers in their parking lot. Hyundai mentions that the new building is built in a way that it harmonises various aspects of nature, technology, innovation and collaboration.

Other than Research and Development, Hyundai has moved sales, marketing, aftersales, finance and HR department to this new location. For R&D operation Hyundai has a facility in Hyderabad. It is said that Hyundai will also include an in-house design studio in the new building sometime in future. Before moving Gurgaon, Hyundai’s headquarters was located in Delhi’s Jasola. The old building is likely to be retained as the Central regional office.
The new headquarter is built in a way that it takes care of environmental sustainability. It has solar roof tops, natural lighting and wide open spaces. Amenities like height-adjustable works station, conference rooms, sound proof concentration rooms, conversation rooms, special relaxation rooms for women employees and high-end video conferencing systems are also in place to coordinate with parent organisation in South Korea, manufacturing and R&D facility in Chennai and Hyderabad respectively.
Hyundai had acquired two plots in the area. While the new headquarter is built on one, another building for brand experience center is also expected to come by 2023. The estimated capital expenditure is around Rs 2,000 crore including both buildings.
Hyundai is India’s second largest car manufacturer and they have a variety of products in their line up. One of the recent launch from Hyundai in India was Alcazar which is a 7-seater SUV based on Creta which is a best selling SUV in its segment. Like Creta, Alcazar has also received an overwhelming response from customer. Hyundai has already received 11,000 bookings and over 5,600 units have already been delivered to customers.
One of the upcoming product from Hyundai is the micro SUV which was known by the codename AX1. It has been spotted testing several times. The upcoming micro SUV is expected to be known by the name Casper in the market and is expected to be launched later this year. The Casper micro SUV will compete with cars like Maruti S-Presso and Tata’s upcoming HBX micro SUV. Hyundai is also working on a facelift for current generation Creta and the same has been spotted testing internationally. Hyundai is expected to launch the facelift by next year in international markets.
