Hyundai launched the all-new i20 earlier this year in the Indian market. Hyundai has now announced that they have received more than 30,000 bookings for the feature-rich premium hatchback in a matter of only 40 days! Hyundai has also delivered about 10,000 units of the all-new i20 in the same period.
With a base price of Rs 6.8 lakh, ex-showroom, Hyundai has announced that more than 85% of the bookings are for the higher trims. The top-end variant of the all-new Hyundai i20 is priced at Rs 11.17 lakh. These prices will increase in January 2021 as announced by Hyundai during the launch of the vehicle. Currently, the all-new i20 are selling on introductory prices. Hyundai has also mentioned that about 10% of the customers chose the dual-tone colour option on the car. The Fiery Red and Starry Night colour came out to be a popular choice among the buyers.
Commenting on the achievement, Mr Tarun Garg, Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said,
“We are witnessing a truly superlative customer response for the all-new i20 that has captivated the hearts and minds of Indian customers with its futuristic design and advanced technologies. After a stellar festive season, we are happy to share, that 10 000 customers have already taken delivery of the all-new i20. We are delighted to receive around 30 000 bookings for the all-new i20 and as Smart Indian customers are opting for smart cars, we are observing that around 85 % of these bookings are attributed to higher trims of the all-new i20.”
With the launch of the all-new i20, Hyundai has increased the dimensions of the vehicle. It comes with a long list of features and many of these are segment-first. Starting with the likes of 10.25-inch infotainment system, which is biggest in the segment, Hyundai also offers a 7-speaker unit from Bose too. It also gets BlueLink Internet-connected services that keeps the vehicle connected to the Internet all the time and allows the owner to control several features of the vehicle remotely. It also gets a sunroof, an air purifier and a long list of other such features. Hyundai i20 also offers a wireless car charging system with cooling technology and since it gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the feature is quite useful.
The all-new Hyundai i20 offers three engine options. There is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine that generates a maximum power of 83PS with the MT and 88 PS with the CVT automatic. The more powerful variants will get the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol that generates a maximum power of 120 PS. It gets a 6-speed IMT and 7-speed DCT. The diesel variants get the 1.5-lire turbo that generates a maximum of 100 PS. It is the most fuel-efficient car in the segment with 25.2 km/l certified efficiency.
Hyundai also offers a unique WONDER warranty option with the i20 that offers 3 years/1 lakh, 4 years/50,000 km and 5 years/40,000 km. Customers who choose the variants with BlueLink system also get a free subscription for three years and there is 3 years road side assistance available to all the owners of the all-new i20.
