Hyundai sells more than 1.5 lakh units of Creta

Hyundai Creta was launched 2 years back and since then, the car has gained enough popularity in the market. The compact SUV segment is riding on a wave in the market. Hyundai has revealed that the Creta has clocked highest ever sales in a month and has sold nearly 9,002 units in February 2017.

Hyundai sells more than 1.5 lakh units of Creta

The Creta was introduced in July 2015 and the SUV has sold over 1.5 lakh units since its introduction in the market. Hyundai achieved this feat in 21 months and the car has averaged 7,177 units per month. Soon after the official launch, Creta received an overwhelming response in the market and got over one lakh bookings. The waiting period extended to over ten months that forced Hyundai to ramp up the production of the car by 30 per cent.

Hyundai also rolled out a limited edition of the vehicle to celebrate the first anniversary of the vehicle and introduced new variants in the form of petrol automatic and a more affordable version of the diesel automatic. The Creta had become second most sold utility vehicle in India in 2015-16 fiscal year after the Mahindra Bolero.

Hyundai Creta is powered by three engine options, 1.6-litre petrol that produces a maximum of 121 BHP – 151 Nm of torque, 1.4-litre diesel engine that produces a maximum of 89 BHP-220 Nm of torque and 1.6-litre diesel that churns a maximum of 126 BHP and 259 Nm of torque. There are a total of 11 variants of the car and both manual and automatic transmissions are available with the petrol and diesel engine options.

Hyundai is also planning to launch a facelift version of the car with a new front grille, more prominent soulder lines and other minor updates. The new Creta will also get restyled front bumpers , a new horizontal fog lamps. The new Creta has been unveiled in the Brazilian market and is expected to reach the Indian shores by the end of this year.
