Hyundai Tucson came back to India after skipping a whole generation. The all-new Tucson is currently the most expensive car in the Hyundai India’s line-up and targets the SUVs like the Jeep Compass in the market. The sales figure of Tucson is not very exciting on the chart and to give it a push, Hyundai will come out with new features in the car.
Hyundai is working to launch a new variant of the Tucson that will get additional features. It will be the new top-of-the-line variant and will be known as the GLS+. With the additional features, the price of the new variant will be Rs. 60,000 more than the current GLS variant, which is the most expensive in the line-up. The new variant will launch before Diwali and will compete with the new Jeep Compass Limited Plus variant that was launched recently in the market.
Hyundai has been planning to launch the new premium variant for a long time now. However, the plans are materializing just now. The new variant will also be premium from the inside. It will get an all-black interior that will add a sporty touch to the SUV. One of the major feature addition in the GLS+ is the panoramic sunroof that will be quite big in size. The SUV may also get ventilated seats like the Verna but it has not been confirmed yet. Recently, Jeep also launched the Compass Limited Plus with a panoramic sunroof. The new variant of the Tucson will directly compete with the new variant of the Compass.
The Hyundai Tucson is quite loaded with the features even now. It gets projector headlamps with automatic headlamp bending feature, leather upholstery, 18-inch alloy wheels, electronic parking brake, power adjustable driver seat, compass on the interior rearview mirror, keyless entry, puddle lamps, cooled glove box, touchscreen infotainment system and much more. It also gets a 4WD version.
The Tucson is available with both the petrol and diesel engine options in India. There is a 2.0-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum of 155 PS and 192 Nm. The diesel engine unit is also a 2.0-litre unit that churns out a maximum of 185 PS and 400 Nm. Both the engine options are available with automatic transmission option.
