Hyundai is one of the last mainstream manufacturers to enter the sub-4m, compact SUV segment in India. Earlier this year, the brand launched the all-new Venue and it has become a major hit in the Indian market. Hyundai has officially announced that by the end of 2019, the model may garner as much as 100,000 bookings!
The all-new car currently has bookings of over 75,000 units. It is one of the quickest selling vehicles from the brand and is the second-best-selling model in the segment after the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Due to the high popularity of the Venue, there is already a high waiting on the vehicle. Hyundai has mentioned that in the coming months, before the end of the calendar year 2020, the vehicle will gain more than 1,00,000 bookings in the Indian market. Hyundai officially announced that the Venue has aggregated a total of 50,000 bookings on July 30th.
Commenting on the VENUE’s success, Mr S S Kim, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, said,
“Hyundai VENUE has become the customers’ first choice in India and Global markets. Launched in May 2019, Hyundai VENUE has penned a new success story, having registered over 90,000 bookings (May-Nov, 2019) in India. Introducing a technology wave – First Connected Mobility in the SUV segment – VENUE became the Talk of the Town since its unveiling last summer. Out of the 60,000 happy customers of VENUE, 22,000 opted for Blue Link Connected Technology Variant, which showcases customers’ trust on Hyundai Technology. Hyundai promises to continue this momentum in the Year 2020 with new products coupled with new technology.”
Hyundai India has also announced that they will start exporting the Venue models to the South African market after the official launch on 2nd December. The manufacturer has already shipped 1,400 units of the Venue to the South African market. Other important markets where the Hyundai Venue is exported are Nepal, Bhutan, Mauritius, and Seychelles. The new left-hand-drive Hyundai Venue is getting developed that will be exported to the countries in the Gulf region and other African and Latin American markets.
The Hyundai Venue is quite popular in India and also came in the first position on the sales chart after overtaking the sales of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Currently, it has a comfortable margin and is in the second position on the sales charts.
The all-new Venue is sold in multiple variants that are powered by three different engine options in the Indian market. There is 1.4-litre diesel, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine. The Venue is currently the only car in the sub-4m compact SUV segment that gets the 7-speed DCT automatic transmission with the 1.0-litre petrol engine. The other two engine options only get a manual transmission. The Venue is also loaded with features including Internet-connected infotainment system.
