Launched on the 21st of May this year, the Hyundai Venue has now become the best selling SUV in India across al segment. The sub-4 meter SUV made headlines after a few months of its launch when it clenched the top-selling SUV of its segment, beating the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in the process. In the period of May to September 2019, the South Korean manufacturer sold 42,681 Venues to buyers while bookings are pegged at around 75,000. This means that the last 5 months have been rather good for the company despite the sales slowdown which hit the market hard a few months back. These sales numbers have set a new sales record for the company in the compact SUV segment.

Talking about the Venue, the sub-4 meter SUV is offered in a wide range of variants, both in petrol and diesel. The car comes with two petrol engine options with the SUV along with a diesel engine option. There is a 1.2-litre petrol engine on offer which is borrowed from the Elite i20. This engine churns out 82 Bhp of power along with 115 Nm of torque and gets a 5-speed manual gearbox option. Then there is a 1-litre 3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which is also the most powerful unit available with the Venue. This engine puts out 118 Bhp of power along with 172 Nm of torque. This engine gets 6-speed manual and 7-speed twin-clutch automatic gearboxes. The diesel engine offered on the Venue is a 1.4-litre turbocharged unit that produces 89 Bhp of power and 220 Nm of torque. A 6 speed manual gearbox is standard with this engine.
As for the pricing of the Venue, the base variant of the Venue is priced at Rs. 6.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the top-end variant is priced at Rs. 10.84 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The front-wheel-drive sub-4 meter SUV gets a host of first in class features. It also comes with Hyundai’s BlueLink smart connectivity which has a total of 33 features under its umbrella, out of which 10 are Indian specific. The car gets e-SIM too along with the BlueLink connectivity feature. Other features include a twin zone automatic climate control unit, wireless charging, automatic headlamps, smart key, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, air purifier, cooled glovebox, electric sunroof and a touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
