Exclusive: Hyundai Venue spotted next to a Ford EcoSport for the first time

Hyundai announced the prices of the much-awaited Venue in the Indian market a few days back. There’s a massive interest around the all-new compact SUV from the Korean brand and the deliveries of the vehicle have also begun in across India. There has been a great lot of discussion over the size of the Hyundai Venue and how small it looks on the road. Well, after bring you the comparison with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, we have got the Hyundai Venue standing next to the Ford EcoSport. Here is a side-by-side comparison that shows what exactly the vehicles look like next to each other.

Both being sub-4m compact SUV have a limited length to play with. As per the official specifications, the Hyundai Venue measures 3,995mm in length as against the 3,998mm of the Ford EcoSport. The Hyundai Venue is slightly wider at 1,770mm while the Ford EcoSport measures 1,765mm. However, the EcoSport is taller than the Hyundai Venue at 1,647mm while the Venue measures 1,605mm. The EcoSport gets a wheelbase of 2,519mm while the Hyundai Venue measures 2,500mm. The Hyundai Venue gets 190mm of ground clearance while the Ford EcoSport offers 200mm of ground clearance.

Both the cars – Ford EcoSport and Hyundai Venue offer a large grille at the front. The Hyundai Venue gets the latest design language of the Hyundai cars and the front grille gets a cascade design. Also, the most interesting part of the design of the Hyundai Venue is the separate housing for the indicators and the main headlamp cluster. It makes the car look very modern. However, the EcoSport also looks quite butch from the front and offers integrated LED DRL in the headlamps.

From the rear, the Ford EcoSport’s tailgate-mounted spare tyre adds a major advantage to the car and gives it a massive look. It sure looks very aggressive and intimidating from the rear. The Hyundai Venue offers a clean look from the rear. It should be noted the Ford EcoSport offers split tail lamp at the rear whereas the size of the tail lamp of Hyundai Venue is quite small. The Venue looks like a scaled-down Hyundai Creta from the rear.

The diesel variants of the Hyundai Venue are powered by a 1.4-litre unit that also powers the Elite i20 and the Creta. The Venue offers a Dual-Clutch automatic transmission and is the only car to do so in the segment.
