Hyundai releases Venue TVC for iMT & new Sport trims [Video]

Hyundai Venue has been one of the most popular sub-4 meter compact SUV in the market. Launched last year, it competes with cars like Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and upcoming Kia Sonet. With rising competition in the segment, Hyundai had recently introduced a transmission with the 1.0 litre turbo petrol unit. It is known as iMT or intelligent manual transmission that allows driver to shift gears manually without using the clutch pedal. They also introduced a new Sport trim which comes with red accents both on the outside and inside. Here we have the new official TVC of Venue that shows both iMT and Sport trim versions in them.

The video has been uploaded by Hyundai India on their official youtube channel and the video simply shows what all is offered in the new version. Design and feature wise nothing has changed in the car at all. It still gets the same projector type headlamp on bumper with DRLs around it on the bumper and the turn indicators positioned above it. The cascading grille is retained but, the sport trim gets red accent on it.

Just like at the front, the red accents are seen on the wheel arch, brake calipers, lower part of the doors and interiors too. The steering wheel gets red stitching, AC vents and knobs get red accents and similarly the seat also gets red stitching on it. The Sport trim is offered in SX, SX+, SX(O) trims with 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine and the 1.5 litre diesel. Sport trim just has cosmetic changes and no revisions are made to power and torque figures.

The iMT transmission that Venue now comes with uses electro mechanically actuated clutch. Just like automatic car, it does not come with physical clutch pedal. It uses sensor that automatically engages the clutch whenever driver wants to upshift or downshift. The same transmission will also be available in upcoming Kia Sonet. Hyundai Venue is available with a 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. The 1.0 litre engine gets manual, DCT and iMT gearbox options whereas the other two engines only come with manual transmission.
