Hyundai Venue compact SUV’s variant & colour details revealed ahead of launch

Hyundai India has begun accepting bookings for the Venue compact SUV since yesterday. The South Korean automaker has also revealed variant details of the vehicle. The Venue will be sold in 13 variants across three engine and four gearbox options. As for colours, the compact SUV will be offered in 7 colours:  lava orange, polar white, fiery red, deep forest, denim blue, stardust, and typhoon silver.

Top-end variants will also get a dual tone paint scheme where the roof of the SUV gets a contrast finish. The Venue will be launched in India on the 21st of May, 2019, from when customer deliveries will commence. For now, Hyundai dealers across India are officially  accepting bookings for the SUV, with the booking amount pegged at Rs. 21,000.

The Hyundai Venue will get three new engines: a 1.2 liter VTVT, naturally aspirated petrol engine (82 Bhp-115 Nm)  borrowed from the i20, a 1.4 liter turbocharged diesel engine (89 Bhp-220 Nm) again borrowed from the i20, and a new 1 liter-3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 118 Bhp-172 Nm. The petrol and turbo diesel engines will get 5 speed and 6 speed manual gearboxes respectively while the turbo petrol motor will get two gearbox options: a 6 speed manual and a 7 speed twin clutch automatic.

The naturally aspirated petrol engined Venue will be available in two variants: E and S, and this means that Hyundai  will price the SUV very competitively. The turbo petrol engined, manual model will be available in S, SX, SX Dual  tone and SX (O) variants while the turbo petrol, automatic variant will be sold in SX and SX+ trims. The diesel  engined model will be available in E, S, SX, SX Dual Tone and SX (O) variants.

The Hyundai Venue will be one of India’s best equipped compact SUVs. A connected SUV, it will get a dedicated simcard  on board, which will let owners utilize the various smartphone features. Owners will be able to remotely start the Venue, operate its AC and power windows, immobilize it during thefts, and also locate it in parking lots, all through a smartphone. As for safety features and creature comforts, the Venue will be a best-in-class offering, second only to the Mahindra XUV300, which is another seriously loaded sub-4 meter compact SUV.

Then top-end variants of the Venue will offer six airbags, ABS, ESP, traction control, hill hold, reverse parking  sensors and reverse camera as key safety features.
