Hyundai India is expected to launch the all-new Verna with new engine options soon. Currently, Hyundai only offers 1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engines with the executive sedan. However, the Korean manufacturer is planning to bring back the 1.4-litre petrol engine option and the official announcement will happen soon.
ACI has revealed that the price the 1.4-litre engine powered Verna will be priced at Rs. 7.29 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai. This price is for the base variant of the vehicle. The price of the higher-spec EX trim is yet to be out. The 1.4-litre version undercuts the base 1.6-litre petrol model by about Rs. 70,000. The official announcement of the prices is expected to happen in this week.
The feature list of the lower powered Verna is expected to be same as the 1.6-litre model. The base variant is offered with 15-inch steel wheels, dual airbags, ABS, tilt steering, power mirrors, a trip computer, a cooled glovebox, and a rear centre armrest. The higher-end version is likely to get keyless entry, rear parking sensors, projector fog lamps, a front armrest, a 5.0-inch touchscreen system with four speakers, cruise control, rear AC vents and an adjustable driver’s seat.
The 1,368cc engine is same as the one available with the Hyundai Elite i20. However, Hyundai is planning to discontinue the same engine available with the premium hatchback. The four-cylinder engine is expected to produce a maximum power of 98.6 Bhp and 134 Nm of peak torque.
Externally, both the version will be identical. It will get the new cascade grille alongside the all-new LED tail lamp. The Hyundai Verna has gained a lot of attention in the market and even became the best selling vehicle in the segment in a couple of months after its launch.The lower price will definitely put this vehicle on the radar of many prospective buyers.
