Hyundai Verna Facelift to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo: In Images!

Hyundai Verna is one the popular mid-size sedans in the country. It competes with cars like Maruti Ciaz, Honda City, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento in the segment. Hyundai has been working on an all-new Verna sedan for a long time and has already launched one in the Chinese market. The 2020 Hyundai Verna is likely to be inspired by the Chinese version or it could be a toned-down version of the same. According a thread from Team Bhp, Hyundai will be showcasing the 2020 Hyundai Verna at the upcoming Auto Expo.

Hyundai Verna looks entirely different from the one that is being sold in India currently. The sedan looks sharper and sportier with those wide grille and sharp looking headlamps. The bumper also gets update and has silver inserts in them. From the side, basic layout of the car is similar to the current gen Verna with sloping roof and a boot lip at the rear.

The car in the images is a lower spec model that is sold in the international market. The higher variant get funky looking machine cut alloy wheels. Coming to the rear, it has a different or a sharp character to it. The tail lamps are all LED and are split type. The tail lights extend all the way to the Hyundai logo on the boot. The lower part of the bumper gets a reflector integrated in it.

The new or the 2020 Hyundai Verna will have a changes made to it not just outside but inside as well. Just like any other Hyundai car in India, new Verna will also be a feature loaded car. Other major change it will have is in terms of the engine. With the new emission norms getting implemented this April, Hyundai and other manufacturers will launch BS6 complaint engines for their car. Verna will also get a BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engine.

Talking about the engine, the new Verna is likely borrow the 1.5 litre turbo diesel and 1.5 litre petrol from Kia Seltos. Not just the engine, the gearbox might also be used. The petrol Verna will get a manual and CVT gearbox whereas the diesel version will get a manual and torque converter unit. The new facelifted Verna is likely to be launched in the Indian market later this year. The car will continue to operate in the C-Segment sedan space, rivaling the likes of the Maruti Ciaz and the Honda City, which will soon get a full model change.
